planning your wedding morning

my wedding ceremony was at 4:30 pm, and we started hair + makeup at 6 am, here’s why:

As a 2023 bride myself, I experienced wedding planning from a fresh perspective. Being a wedding vendor, I understood that hair and makeup on the wedding morning takes time - especially with a large group.

I had 13 people scheduled for hair and makeup on my wedding morning. We were getting ready off-site from the wedding venue, which I didn’t have access of until 11am, and my first look was scheduled for 1:30 pm. Cue the strategic planning!

Factoring in travel, packing, setup and breakdown, the game plan was set in motion. With 2 makeup artists and 2 hairstylists, we were in hair and makeup from 6:30 am until 12:30 pm and it was perfectly timed. Why the early start, you ask? Well, it wasn't just about beating the clock; it was about savoring every moment. There was no mad dash, no last-minute chaos – just a leisurely morning filled with joy, laughter, and the fun beauty process.

Here’s what to expect while planning your wedding morning (from a wedding pro and previous bride)

The time dedicated to each person can vary, ranging between 40-60 minutes. Keep in mind that this duration is different and unique to the service providers you choose. As a rule of thumb, we usually allocate around 45-50 minutes per person on average.

The hair and makeup artists will arrive about 30 minutes before their first service so they can set up. This allows them to set up their stations and, sometimes, tweak the layout of the room to ensure it's a conducive space for hair and makeup.

Now, let's talk about the importance of a well-crafted schedule. To account for the unpredictable nature of any event, including the occasional delay or a touch-up moment, it's wise to incorporate 15-30 minutes of padding time at the end of your beauty timeline.

how many service providers are needed

As a company that can accommodate bridal parties of ALL sizes, it's important to note that the following policies are unique to us. Different beauty companies may have varying policies, so be sure to verify with your chosen beauty professional!

For all wedding schedules, we allocate a total of 6 service hours. It's essential to understand that we do not extend services beyond 6 hours in total, excluding set-up, breakdown, touch-ups, and travel. In instances where your group requires more services than can be accommodated within the 6-hour limit, we'll bring in additional service providers at no extra cost to you.

Alternatively, if your group can be completed within the 6-hour timeframe but you prefer to expedite the timeline with extra service providers, we offer the option to reserve additional artists at a rate of $200 each.
